We The Youth was a political documentary film class initially started Spring 2017 in AVPA Film. Since then it has grown to become a movement for all youth to rally their voices within the current political climate. Many believe that millennials are not politically active and are not motivated to take action in the current political turmoil. In response, we decided to make a series of short Youtube clips in which we spoke to some of our peers and friends about their opinions on a few of the political topics currently under scrutiny by Donald Trump's administration. We not only sought out educated answers but also true emotional reactions to the current atrocities of our nation. This project is meant to inspire people to be more vocal about their opinions and do whatever they can to become more politically active, in whatever way they chose. Political action should not be limited to just rallies, speeches, etc., one can take action through art as well. We plan to continue this project through a partnership with Adolescent, a local youth film promotion company, in hopes of exposing our videos to a wider audience.
